The traction devices enable wheelchair users to move freely in the mountains, can cope with uneven paths with steep gradients, and also serve as a braking device when going downhill. People with severe mobility impairments (e.g., people with paraplegia, tetraparesis, spastic paralysis, multiple sclerosis, etc.) can only move around in the mountains with a great deal of support and enormous physical effort on the part of their helpers. Swiss-Tracs are all-terrain tractors for wheelchair users, enabling them to enjoy an independent and active mountain experience. Swiss-Tracs used by Freizeit-PSO help a large number of people with disabilities to access the mountains easily and independently.

Swiss-Tracs can be borrowed free of charge throughout the Freizeit-PSO programs.

People planning a vacation in the region without Freizeit-PSO can borrow the Swiss-Tracs for a fee (equipment rental) after completing a schooling.
